I stayed for six weeks at your care centre. The staff were totally clear as to their roles they carried out, not only with great efficiency but also in a friendly, reassuring and professional manner, making residents feel valued and cared for. Clearly the centre represented your leadership qualities. You and your deputy walked the centre daily, it was so refreshing to see senior staff members out and about and available. As a champion of equal opportunities and anti-racism, it was so encouraging to see the multi-ethnic make-up of the staff and how they worked together in a climate of mutual respect. I can not recall seeing a more positive atmosphere. I want to offer my gratitude to you and your staff who made my stay so enjoyable, and offered such an outstanding contribution to the care service.

"The physio team was very good and extremely understanding. They were very helpful and provided me with good advice. The healthcare assistants and nurses were really good at their jobs, patient and understanding. Cleanliness of the room and care centre were of a very high standard. "From the moment I spoke to the Manager of Byron House, I knew it was the perfect place for my mother. She was friendly, really enthusiastic about the activities they organised and was really helpful in moving mum in. I found this with the other staff as well. Sadly, my mum was only there for two weeks before suddenly passing away. The staff were very kind to me whilst I was with mum over the last couple of days of her life. Two very supportive nurses sat with me during the last moments of her life. It has a lovely atmosphere, caring staff and lots of entertainment for the residents."

She was not well enough to care for herself at home but, despite having only 24 hours notice, Riverdale accepted her for a 2-week temporary stay. Just a note to express our heartfelt thanks and gratitude for the way every one of you cared for our Dad. From the moment he arrived, you welcomed us all and guided us with your expert support. You not only gave such wonderful care and attention to Dad, you also extended this care and attentiveness to us, his family. From the staff who offered us tea, to those who made sure Dad was clean, comfortable and tidy, the cooks who kept the nutritious food coming, the nurses who oversaw his medical care and took time to keep us all updated – thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We shall never forget everyone’s professionalism, caring attitude and humanity.

Kingfisher nursing home I truly believe you deserve the Care Home of the Year award. My mum has been with you for 4 years you have saved her life on many occasions. If mum was not being so well looked after I know mum would not be with us today.  Mum is treated as an individual and very well respected. She always has her needs met, she loves being with you and is always entertained and staff provide exceptional care.
