Residential Care
What is Residential Care?
There are a number of reasons why you or a loved one might choose residential care. It is a particularly good option for those who could benefit from a calm and relaxing setting, delicious nutritious meals and a little extra support with washing, dressing and other daily activities.
Residential care can provide a safe and homely setting for the long term, or indeed the relaxation and recuperation needed in the short term, perhaps following an operation. It’s important to note that residential care is not for those who require specialist support in the form of nursing care or dementia care.
Residential care is designed to give residents independence whilst reducing the risks that come with living alone. Residential care homes provide a setting to enable each of their residents to enjoy living life as they wish, safe in the knowledge that care staff are on hand to support where needed.
Westgate’s Residential Care Service
At Westgate Healthcare, all of our care homes offer residential care services. In our homes, we appreciate that each of our residents is an individual with unique requirements, which is why we develop personalised care plans that are re-assessed regularly. We pride ourselves on offering the highest-quality residential care and companionship for those living with us. In fact, the strong bonds within our community mean many consider our care team as an extension of their own family.
Our staff are respectful and attentive to the needs of residents, so whether it’s as simple as knowing if it’s ‘milk and two sugars’, or helping to find a new hobby, Westgate Healthcare homes always have their resident’s best interests at heart. This is the key to quality residential care.
Our residents enjoy the freedom of planning their day, from breakfast to when they go to bed with 24-hour support on hand. With this in mind, in our residential care homes, you can expect all the usual comforts of home such warm fireplaces, comfy armchairs, beautiful gardens and the smell of home-cooked food creating a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. We also have all the facilities required to provide the highest level of care.
We provide a wide variety of activities and events that our residents can attend at their leisure such as music workshops, flower arranging, coffee mornings and more. But if you prefer a stroll around the garden or relaxing in a quiet space with a good book, then the options are open to you.
In all of our homes, dedicated catering professionals prepare seasonal meals from a varied daily menu, taking into account personal preference and dietary requirements. Our delicious meals are centred on taste as well as nutrition. If you have a visitor, then we will happily provide lunch or afternoon tea for them as well.
The best way to find out what life is like as a resident at Westgate Healthcare is to visit your nearest care home and meet the staff and people who live with us.
