The Wanstead Music School bring festive cheer to Chestnut Manor residents

Children from The Wanstead Music School brought some festive cheer to Chestnut Manor residents by performing a host of Christmas Carols and musical performances.

The workshop was hosted by musician Nick, with The Wanstead Music School Directors Liliana and Gabriel joining in the festive workshop, hosted at Chestnut Manor Care Home.

Fernanda Perini, Activities Co-Ordinator said “Our residents loved welcoming the children in to sing, boosting the festive mood. Christmas is always a special time for our residents and this is just one of the wonderful activities we have hosted in partnership with The Wanstead Music School. The children have previously performed a classical concert during Care Home Open Week, it was lovely for our residents to see the children again.

We have had lots of activities taking place in the lead up to Christmas, but this has definitely been a firm favourite with the residents and one they will remember for a long time, thank you.”

The Christmas carol workshop was just one activity in a whole calendar of festive activities planned by the wellbeing team. Other activities included a Christmas Afternoon Tea Party, hosted by the Forest Gate Community School, Elf Day Fundraising for Alzheimer’s Society, Christmas Coffee Morning, Christmas Art Therapy, Christmas Jumper Day for Save the Children and Christmas Cake baking.
