Burford House host a mini Christmas market
On Friday 15th December, Burford House Care Home hosted a mini-Christmas market, with two special guests from Kew Little Pigs. It was a great success with over 10 local businesses attending ranging from selling scarves, spa products, wine and Christmas decorations!
Residents had lots of fun – family, friends and the wider community joined the event, creating a day for all to remember. The home welcomed Gagan Mohindra, Conservative MP for South West Hertfordshire, Ashish Patil, Chairman of Three Rivers Music Society and Home Instead Representative Scott Wright.
With Kew Little Pigs set up in car park entrance, all visitors and residents were able to have their photo taken stroking and grooming the pigs. Children and parents from local schools ChristChurch and St Clement Danes popped in and enjoyed all the festivities and were especially impressed by Cloud Nine candyfloss creations.
The market had a whole range of stalls, including Body Shop products, Chorleywood Bookshop, PinkMoon Creations selling brownies and cookies, local artist Dean Such, Imre Balogh with Hungarian wine, local author Claire Smith with children’s books and Sandra Caine raising money for charity Pet Therapy with a range of knitted items.
Home Manager Kyla said “It’s been great to see so many people come to the Christmas market at Burford House Care Home, we wanted to support the local traders of the area, but also have some family fun for the local community. The day has been really exciting for the residents, team and families, and we hope the local community has enjoyed the day”.
Relative Lin said ‘The Christmas Fair seemed to go off well, it was a very jolly event. I particularly liked Kew Little Pigs, Trevor gave Bambi a brush’.
Residents loved getting involved in the preparations and festive fun and it was a great opportunity for families to spend some time with their loved ones, whilst our neighbours had an opportunity to look inside Burford House and see what was going on.
