Riverdale Care Home delighted to be awarded ‘GOOD’ CQC Rating

Westgate Healthcare are proud to announce that Riverdale Care Home in Braintree has been awarded a “GOOD” rating, across all five categories, after a recent unannounced focused inspection in relation to the Safe and Well-led categories.

The recent inspection showcases Westgate Healthcare’s commitment to care, with all homes within the portfolio being rated as Good or Outstanding.

The report stated a number of improvements have been implemented since the last inspection, having a stable management team in place, residents at the home received good care and were supported by a consistent team who understood their needs and preferences.

Inspectors found that the ‘registered manager had a clear oversight over the service and was committed to continuously driving improvements in people’s care.” This is re-iterated by the feedback from people, relatives and staff speaking positively about the leadership of the service and the dedication of the registered manager.

Renata Sulugiuc, Home Manager and Registered Nurse with over 10 years of experience, is ambitious, enthusiastic and friendly with a huge passion for her work.

Renata said “ We are so proud of the  improvements we have made as a team and are all committed to deliver the best care to our residents. We have built good team relationships and pride ourselves on our personal relationships with residents and family members alike. We regularly ask for  feedback to enable us to support our residents in the best way that suits each individual need and preference.”

The CQC report acknowledges the home’s regular review and amendment of health and safety processes, including monitoring personal care plans and the provision of quality of training to support residents care needs. Furthermore, it was noted that the team had built positive relationships with other healthcare professionals in order to support changing needs.

The CQC report states “People and relatives spoke positively about the care provided. People were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives and staff supported them in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests. Staff had been provided with specialised training, tailored to understanding how to support people who may be feeling distressed or upset, in a dignified and respectful way.”

Deborah Christian, Chief Operating Officer at Westgate Healthcare, said: “On behalf of the Directors and all of us at Westgate Healthcare, we congratulate and thank the team at Riverdale Care Home for their dedication to delivering the best care possible for our residents, their families and each other. The homely, caring and compassionate atmosphere created at Riverdale is testament to their hard work and commitment to make a difference to the life of others.”

Riverdale Care Home team members, families, residents and stakeholders will be celebrating with a party and open event on Saturday 25th March 12-4pm.
