Former Watford FC Player meets 100 year old fan at Burford House Care Home

Former Watford Football Club player, Ian Bolton, had the honour of meeting a remarkable centenarian resident, Stanley, at Burford House Care Home in Chorleywood. Stanley, who celebrated his 100th birthday on 23rd December, has been a lifelong supporter of the club, attending matches since he was a young boy.

Stanley, who has been a devoted fan of Watford FC since his youth, was delighted by the surprise visit from the former player. Ian Bolton, known for his contributions to the club during his playing days, took the time to chat with Stanley about his memories supporting the team throughout the decades. They exchanged stories about memorable matches, favourite players, and shared their love for the club. Stanley was presented with a personalized club t-shirt as a token of appreciation for his lifelong support.

The presentation of the club t-shirt brought smiles to Stanley’s face and further sparked conversations about their favourite moments in history. Stanley was joined by two friends for the presentation, after which they all enjoyed lunch together in the home. The gesture highlighted the enduring connection between the club and its fans, spanning generations and bringing joy to supporters of all ages and backgrounds, fostering a sense of belonging and unity within the local community.

Stanley said, “It is a total surprise and I am thrilled about the effort made by everyone.”
