Chestnut Manor Care Home Celebrates Five Star Food Rating

Chestnut Manor Care Home in Wanstead celebrates successfully obtaining an outstanding five-star food hygiene rating from the Food Standards Agency (FSA).

All the team at Chestnut Manor work incredibly hard to provide residents with a wonderful varied menu, with all meals prepared with fresh, locally sourced, seasonal produce taking into account the individual tastes and dietary needs of the people it cares for.

The home prides itself on their menus, which will satisfy even those with the smallest or most discerning of appetites; from breakfast through to dinner, residents can discover something different with fresh flavours and lovely, well-presented meals. The great hospitality and catering team are always keeping themselves busy in the kitchen creating new and exciting dishes for everyone to enjoy, as well as freshly baked cakes for afternoon teas.

The Food Standards Agency rates establishments to see if food is safe, correctly labelled and whether there are healthy and sustainable meals available within all premises of England, Wales and Northern Ireland. From a score of zero to five, food hygiene ratings are given to food handling businesses, such as care homes, after inspection to assess how well they comply with food safety laws. Chestnut Manor Care Home was rated as 5 Star, the highest rating.

The home’s newest successful rating is a milestone towards Chef Bradlee’s ambitions, to continuously enhance the dining experience at Chestnut Manor Care Home, to grow the variety of foods available, diversifying the food options to further meet religious and cultural preferences, as well as entering exciting awards showcasing food in care home’s as luxurious and delicious.

Bradlee, Chef at Chestnut Manor Care Home, said: “My promise to Chestnut Manor is to produce high-quality, fresh, well-presented and delicious meals that meet the requirements of the residents and their visitors every day.”

Rosie Monger, Home Manager, said: “The dining experience is important in our everyday lives. It’s a moment in our day we look forward to, plan towards and enjoy. We truly feel committed to making each dining experience a pleasurable experience. It starts by having fresh ingredients stored correctly and safely in a clean and organised environment.”
