An afternoon full of sparkle, smiles and spectacular performances
There was glitz, glamour and plenty of applause at Westgate House Care Centre as residents, relatives and staff came together for our very own Westgate House Strictly Come Dancing event.
The care home courtyard became a dazzling ballroom for the afternoon, bringing the magic of Strictly to Westgate House. Team members took to the dance floor, performing a variety of routines inspired by the much-loved television show. From energetic Salsa performances to elegant Ballroom dancing, every routine delighted residents, relatives and fellow team members alike.
Each performance was met with cheers, laughter and standing ovations from everyone watching.
The event was a wonderful opportunity to bring everyone together, creating unforgettable memories while celebrating the incredible spirit and teamwork that makes Westgate House so special.

Residents take centre stage as judges
Adding to the excitement, our residents and their family members stepped in to the important role of Strictly judges. They scored each performance and encouraged every dancer with their enthusiastic support.
The atmosphere throughout the afternoon was filled with joy, with family members, residents and colleagues all coming together to cheer on the performers and celebrate each routine.
Guests also enjoyed refreshing cocktails and mocktails served by Sanam and Lianne, helping everyone stay cool while making the most of the beautiful sunshine.
Kicking off the competition with a Grease-inspired performance
The first performance of the afternoon saw Home Manager, Nancy and Domestic Assistant, Rosemary take to the dance floor with a fun-filled routine inspired by the iconic Grease classic, You’re the One That I Want.
Their energetic performance had everyone singing, laughing and clapping along from start to finish. It set the perfect tone for an afternoon packed with entertainment.
Nancy, Home Manager commented – “I loved performing for our residents and seeing everyone smile throughout the afternoon. Watching their reactions when I appeared in my John Travolta wig was unforgettable. Their laughter and applause made every rehearsal worthwhile. The whole team embraced the event with enthusiasm, creativity and incredible spirit. It brought us closer together and reminded us how special our Westgate House community is.”

Love shines on the dance floor
Another standout moment came from Corey, Unit Manager, and Zeynab, Care Practitioner, who brought something truly special to the event.
As a real-life couple, they captivated the audience with an elegant Ballroom dance, showcasing not only their graceful movements but also the genuine connection they share. Their performance was filled with warmth, love and chemistry, making it one of the day’s most memorable moments.

A Show-Stopping Salsa Performance to Remember
Ashley and Jyoti wowed residents, relatives and colleagues with a vibrant Salsa performance at Westgate House’s Strictly Come Dancing event.
Performing the energetic dance style for the very first time, they embraced the challenge with confidence, enthusiasm and impressive moves. Their dedication and teamwork shone throughout the performance, creating a memorable afternoon filled with laughter, entertainment and community spirit.
