This year, our homes came alive with the spirit of St Patrick’s Day, as residents and teams across the group embraced a day filled with themed music, creativity and, of course, a touch of Irish charm. From lively parties to meaningful outings, each home found its own special way to celebrate.
Burford House Care Home
At Burford, the home was buzzing as residents gathered together for a vibrant in-house party. With delicious food, uplifting music and a glass (or two!) of Guinness in hand, the celebrations were in full swing.
“It felt like a proper celebration everyone was smiling, singing and enjoying themselves, some more than others with the Guinness” shared Birinder – Activities Lead.

Kingfisher Nursing Home
Kingfisher took on the theme with creativity and flavour, with a celebration filled with festive decorations and hands-on activities. Residents enjoyed painting while surrounded by the colours of Ireland, followed by a delicious braised lamb and Guinness casserole.

At Meadowhill, residents were treated to a fantastic live performance of Irish dancing, bringing energy and excitement to the home. Dressed in themed attire, everyone fully embraced the occasion, creating a lively and memorable celebration.
“Back in my day I was able to lift my legs that high” said Sheila, a resident of Meadowhill.

Byron House Care Home
Over at Byron House, the day was planned to ensure everyone could take part. Some residents enjoyed a trip out to the pub, raising a perfectly poured pint to mark the occasion, heading back to the home to enjoy a beautifully decorated celebration with fellow friends within Byron.

Riverdale Care Home
Creativity took centre stage at Riverdale, where residents enjoyed painting shamrocks and leprechauns, using the vibrant colours of the Irish flag as inspiration. The activity sparked conversation, laughter and a wonderful sense of achievement.

Westgate House Care Centre
Meanwhile, Westgate House hosted a relaxed sip-and-paint afternoon, where residents could unwind with a glass of wine while expressing their artistic side. The combination of creativity and companionship made for a truly enjoyable experience.
“It was truly special to see residents come together to celebrate a day that meant so much to them. Where creativity, conversation and laughter flowed just as freely as the wine.” said Lucy – Marketing Assistant at Westgate Healthcare.

Why Activities Like This Matter
Celebrations like St Patrick’s Day are about so much more than decorations and themed food. They play a vital role in enhancing wellbeing, social interaction and creating meaningful moments for our residents.
By offering a variety of activities we ensure that every resident can take part in a way that feels right for them. These shared experiences build connections between residents and staff, helping to create a warm, supportive and vibrant community within each of our homes.
