There were smiles all around at St Pauls Care Centre as we proudly unveiled our beautifully refurbished in-home salon, Smiles and Styles – a thoughtfully redesigned space created especially for our elderly residents.
After deciding it was time to refresh this much-loved area, our team came together with one shared goal: to create a salon that feels as special as the people who use it. The transformation has exceeded all expectations.
Designed for Comfort, Calm and Confidence
Now beautifully relocated to the ground floor beside reception, Smiles and Styles offers easy access for residents and a warm welcome for visiting family and friends.
Every detail of the new salon has been carefully considered. Soft sage green walls create a calming backdrop, complemented by elegant wood panelling that brings warmth and familiarity to the space. The design follows dementia-friendly principles, helping residents feel safe, relaxed and confident during their appointments.
A purpose-built shampoo chair ensures residents can enjoy their hair wash in complete comfort, while the vibrant new nail bar, stocked with a wonderful array of colourful polishes, adds a joyful splash of personality.
At St Pauls, we know that looking good and feeling good go hand in hand. Hair appointments and manicures are more than treatments; they are important self-care rituals that support wellbeing, dignity and self-expression. Whether it’s a weekly set and blow-dry, a fresh trim or perfectly polished nails, our residents can continue enjoying the routines they love — and leave feeling like the very best version of themselves.
A Celebration to Remember
To mark the grand reopening, we hosted a special ribbon-cutting ceremony complete with delicious cakes and the company of valued members of our local community. It was a heart-warming occasion that brought residents, families and friends together to celebrate the official launch of Smiles and Styles.

Our talented maintenance team worked tirelessly to bring the vision to life, carefully crafting and installing each feature. The activities team selected the finishing touches and interior details, ensuring the space feels warm, uplifting and homely. And our dedicated external hairdresser continues to provide the professional styling that our residents know and trust.
