A Dedicated Leader in Care
At Riverdale Care Home, strong community links sit at the heart of everything we do. Throughout 2025, Lynda Inch, our Customer Relations Manager, has played a leading role in supporting residents, families, and older people across the local area. Her commitment, experience, and compassion have made a lasting difference both inside the home and beyond it.
Experience and Journey
With more than 20 years of experience in the care sector, Lynda brings deep knowledge and understanding to her role. She joined Westgate Healthcare in 2019 as an Administrator after working as a Senior Carer, Deputy, and Home Manager. Her dedication and people-first approach quickly led to her promotion as Customer Relations Manager at Riverdale. Since then, she has supported countless families as they take the important step of moving a loved one into care.
Supporting Families and Residents
Lynda finds real fulfilment in meeting new people and offering reassurance at what can be an emotional time. She guides families with clarity and warmth, while always putting residents at the centre of every conversation. This same approach drives her work in the wider community.
A Personal Perspective from Lynda
“Every event or outing is an opportunity to connect, learn, and share. I love showing families how Riverdale supports our residents, highlighting the positive difference we make in their lives, and building strong relationships with the wider community.”
Championing Dementia Support
A key focus of Lynda’s role involves supporting individuals affected by dementia. She attends the Braintree Dementia Hub at Braintree Town Hall on the first Thursday of every month, where she shares advice, information, and practical guidance. Her regular presence helps families and carers access the support they need, while also raising awareness of dementia-friendly services in the area.

Strengthening Community Partnerships
Riverdale Care Home has reinforced this work through ongoing financial support. Monthly donations from Westgate Healthcare, alongside funding from the Essex Mason Charitable Trust and William of Colchester Masonic Lodge, help the group continue its vital work. This ensures a welcoming and supportive environment for people living with dementia and those who care for them.
Engaging in Local Events and Awareness Weeks
Lynda has represented Riverdale Care Home at dementia-focused events across the region. During Dementia Action Week, she attended the Community Dementia Forum in Braintree. The event brought together local experts and support services to share resources, challenge stigma, and encourage more inclusive communities. Within the home, Lynda supports activities including creative Forget Me Not displays, fundraising initiatives, and themed afternoon teas, helping residents and families celebrate the week together.
Broad Community Involvement
Beyond dementia support, Lynda actively regularly participates in a wide range of community events including:
- Dementia Day Centre at Bradwell Village Hall
- Community 360 at Braintree Freeport
- Farleigh Hospice initiatives, including Buzz in the City and Light for Life
- Home Instead “Past and Present” sessions for over 65s
- Braintree Food Bank for the elderly
- Age Well Fair at Witham Public Hall
- Golden Oldies events at Braintree Library
- Mid Essex Dementia Forums
- Riverdale coffee afternoons
- Engagements at Braintree Museum
These events give Lynda the chance to engage with the community, highlighting Riverdale Care Home, where she fosters meaningful relationships.

Bringing the Community to Riverdale
Closer to home, Lynda regularly organises Riverdale coffee afternoons. These relaxed events give local residents, families, and professionals the chance to connect, ask questions, and learn more about life at Riverdale Care Home. They reflect Lynda’s belief that care homes should feel open, welcoming, and rooted in their communities.
Celebrating Lynda’s Five-Year Anniversary
Lynda’s dedication has not gone unnoticed. In 2025, Riverdale proudly celebrated her five-year work anniversary with Westgate Healthcare. Her continued commitment to residents, families, and community partners shows why she is such a valued member of the team.
A Lasting Impact
We are incredibly proud of the work Lynda does every day. Her passion, expertise, and genuine care continue to strengthen Riverdale Care Home and the wider community we serve.
Sarah Williams, Head of Sales and Marketing said, “Lynda does an amazing job building meaningful links with the local. She is passionate about working collaboratively to share her knowledge and experience, particularly in supporting those living with dementia, always striving to improve understanding, care, and quality of life.”
