We were absolutely delighted to host our Christmas Wonderland on Friday the 12th December at Chestnut Manor in Wanstead. We welcomed residents, their families and members of the local community for a festive celebration.
Chestnut manor wanted the home to be filled with festive cheer and excitement, and that’s exactly what it was. Our residents had a ‘winter wonderful’ time. They explored the beautifully decorated spaces, chatted with visitors and soaked up the Christmas atmosphere, whilst enjoying being part of such a lively and joyful occasion.
A whole lot of cheer
Local stall holders joined us, offering a range of spectacular gifts, treats and handmade items, giving residents the chance to browse, shop and support local businesses. For many, this added a lovely sense of normality and independence, while also sparking memories of previous Christmases.
Our donkeys and the Christmas Grotto stole the show! The donkeys were lovingly cared for and enjoyed all the attention. The residents and family members couldn’t get enough of the festive fun, creating heart-warming moments for everyone who visited.

It was especially heart-warming to see so many family members and people from the local community spending time with our residents, sharing stories and laughter. Events like this are so important to us, as they help our residents feel connected, valued and very much part of the wider community.
