Throughout July, our Westgate Healthcare homes came together to celebrate the summer with a series of themed BBQs. Welcoming residents, families, friends and local communities. From live entertainment and delicious food to music, games and memorable moments, each event reflected the unique spirit of our homes while bringing everyone together to enjoy the sunshine and create lasting memories.

Burford House Care Home

Burford House welcomed everyone for a fantastic summer BBQ with a fun FIFA World Cup theme. The day was filled with laughter as everyone enjoyed football-inspired games, including an exciting penalty shootout. Live music kept the celebrations going throughout the afternoon. Guests tucked into a delicious BBQ and spent quality time together in the sunshine, creating wonderful memories and a brilliant community atmosphere.

A huge thank you to all the families who joined us. Your support, laughter and company helped make the day extra special for our residents, and we loved celebrating summer with you all.

Riverdale Care Home

Riverdale’s Summer BBQ was a fantastic celebration, bringing together residents, families, friends and the local community for an unforgettable afternoon. This year’s vibrant 80s theme was a huge success. There were colourful outfits, classic hits and plenty of dancing creating a fun-filled atmosphere from start to finish.

Craig the live singer kept everyone entertained throughout the afternoon, while our talented chefs served a delicious BBQ that was enjoyed by all. The event was made even more special by the laughter, conversations and cherished moments shared between residents and their loved ones.

A heartfelt thank you goes to our dedicated team, and to everyone who joined us. Your continued support means so much, and seeing so many people come together to celebrate made the day truly memorable. It was a wonderful reminder of the strong sense of community that makes Riverdale feel like one big family.

St Pauls Care Centre

Residents, families and members of the local community came together to enjoy a fantastic seaside-themed Summer BBQ at St Pauls Care Centre. The day was packed with traditional seaside fun, including Hook-a-Duck, Splat the Rat, ball games, prize stalls, a delicious fish and chip lunch, and a visit from a local ice cream van.

Live entertainment added to the celebrations, and the Mayor of Dacorum for 2026–2027, Councillor Garrick Stevens, attended the event to celebrate alongside residents and demonstrate his support for the home and its community.

Jay, Marketing Executive, said: “It was so lovely to see so many people come together for this event. It was wonderful to see residents, families and the local community enjoying the summer together. The team did an amazing job organising such a fantastic day, and it was a real celebration of everything that makes St Pauls so special.”

Byron House Care Home

Byron House’s East Meets West Summer BBQ brought residents, families, friends and staff together for a day full of entertainment and unforgettable memories. Celebrating diverse cultures with food, traditional games, children’s activities and live music for everyone.

Guests took part in games including “Play Your Cards Right” and sling throwing, while an incredible live singer kept everyone entertained throughout the afternoon. One of the highlights of the day was a fun Indian dance performance by the team, which had everyone smiling.

Seeing residents, loved ones and colleagues come together to celebrate was a wonderful reminder that Byron House is one big family.

Kingfisher Nursing Home

Kingfisher Nursing Home welcomed residents, families and staff together for a fantastic Summer BBQ celebration. Complete with a special performance from none other than “Elvis”. Guests enjoyed a delicious homemade barbecue prepared by Chef Gary while singing, dancing and making lasting memories together. Filled with laughter, smiles and great company, the day was made even better by perfect summer weather.

Chestnut Manor Care Home

Chestnut Manor‘s Summer BBQ was filled with great food and fantastic entertainment. The sunny celebration brought everyone together to enjoy a delicious BBQ, live music from Gary and the opportunity to spend quality time with loved ones in a relaxed and joyful atmosphere.

The day was a true celebration of community. It was wonderful to see so many families joining us and helping create such a warm and welcoming event for our residents.

The celebrations also included a special congratulations to Home Manager Marion, who is preparing for her upcoming wedding. We wish her every happiness for this exciting new chapter.
