From 16 to 20th September, our homes proudly joined The Care Workers’ Charity to celebrate Professional Care Workers’ Week 2025. This national event honours the dedication and compassion of care staff across the UK and gave us the perfect opportunity to show our gratitude to the incredible people who care for our residents every day.
Across our homes, including Burford House in Chorleywood, Kingfisher in Cheshunt, Meadowhill in Borehamwood, St Pauls in Hemel Hempstead, Hampden Hall and Byron House in Aylesbury, and Chestnut Manor in Wanstead, Westgate House in Ware, Riverdale in Braintree , our teams embraced the Wear it Orange campaign. Head Office also joined in, showing support and appreciation for all our care teams. Residents and teams dressed in orange, filling the homes with colour and positivity, and shared reflections on the difference care workers make each day.
Our homes marked the week in creative and thoughtful ways. Balloon arches, themed buffets, and co-worker bingo brought fun and laughter, while sweets, homemade cakes, and hand massages provided well-deserved treats. Residents shared personal messages of thanks for the compassion, respect, and dignity they receive, and Head Office sent thoughtful cards to recognise the commitment of our staff.
The celebrations were filled with joy, reflection, and gratitude. They reminded us that care workers are at the heart of everything we do, bringing kindness, resilience, and dedication to our homes each day.

A Shared Message of Thanks
Professional Care Workers’ Week was a chance for us to pause and say thank you. We are so proud of our incredible care teams whose compassion and hard work make a lasting difference to residents and families.
To all our care workers, your dedication never goes unnoticed. You are the heart of our homes today and always.
