Celebrating Mother’s Day Across Westgate Care Homes: Heartfelt Moments, Family Visits, and Fun Activities for Our Residents

bur mothers day 1

This Mother’s Day, our Westgate Healthcare homes came alive with laughter, flowers and treats, as we celebrated the amazing mothers in our communities. From pampering sessions to creative crafts, each home made the day special in its own unique way.

Hampden Hall Care Centre

At Hampden Hall, residents on all floors came together for a morning of flower arranging. The lovely scents and vibrant colours sparked conversations about favourite flowers, and the time spent together made for a truly memorable morning.

Byron House Care Home

At Byron House, the morning started with arts and crafts, giving residents a chance to get creative. Residents then enjoyed a delicious Mother’s Day lunch and a special toast to the mums we have. The afternoon was finished by strawberry and cream cupcakes for 3pm cake time – a perfect sweet treat to end a lovely day together.

Chestnut Manor Care Home

Chestnut Manor residents enjoyed a hands-on activity arranging beautiful flowers in preparation for their Mother’s Day celebration. Their creativity and care bloomed (excuse the pun), making the home feel extra festive.

Burford House Care Home

Burford Care Home enjoyed the celebrations with a joyful party, inviting all residents’ families to join in. The atmosphere was filled with warmth and gratitude as we wished a Happy Mother’s Day to all the beautiful mothers. As we reflected on the day: “Your love, strength, and care make the world a better place.”

Kingfisher Nursing Home

Kingfisher celebrated with visits from family, indulgent cakes, pampering sessions, Lego activities, and a delicious roast dinner prepared by Chef Gary.

Home Manager Emilia shared:
“Happy Mother’s Day to all our wonderful mothers – both residents and our staff. A special thank you to the brave mums who work so hard here and then go home to continue caring for their children. Your strength, kindness, and dedication never go unnoticed.” To add a little extra cheer, Emilia ensured all staff received some chocolate to keep their energy up – a small token of appreciation for everything they do.

Meadowhill Care Home

Finally, Meadowhill added a playful touch to their celebrations with cakes, balloon tennis, prosecco, decorations, and a range of desserts, bringing smiles to all.
