Residents from Byron House swapped their surroundings for a day of discovery at the Natural History Museum in Tring. The outing gave residents the chance to explore something new, enjoy a change of scenery, and make the most of a day out together. All made possible thanks to Westgate Healthcare new mini-bus.

Exploring Every Corner

From stepping inside, residents were excited to explore the museum’s collection. Displays with  mammals, birds, insects, and fossils quickly became talking points, with residents stopping to take a closer look, ask questions, and share their own thoughts. The visit created discussion as residents moved between exhibits, pointing out details and comparing favourites along the way.

Taking It All In

Residents explored the galleries at their own pace, taking in the displays and asking plenty of questions.

Linda Boult, Activities Lead said: – Everyone was engaged from start to finish. Residents were interested in every aspect of the outing, taking in each detail. Seeing them so involved, exchanging thoughts with one another brought the day to life. It wasn’t just about the activities themselves; it was the connections that were made. Seeing this among the residents is what truly made the day unforgettable, leaving everyone with a sense of fulfilment and happiness.

Last but most certainly not least

After spending the morning exploring the museum, the residents made their way to a nearby pub for a leisurely lunch, savouring a well-earned break. The relaxed atmosphere allowed everyone to enjoy some downtime together. Once lunch was finished, they returned to Byron House located on Wendover Road in Aylesbury, where they settled in with a comforting cup of tea. Giving them a peaceful opportunity to unwind, relax, and reminisce about the day’s experiences.

With the new mini bus, this marks one of many more adventures ahead for Byron House residents. From museums and parks to shops and cafés, residents can enjoy regular outings and make every day a new experience.
