For 20 years, Westgate House Care Centre has been a place where residents, families and colleagues have come together to share everyday moments and special occasions. So, when it came time to celebrate two decades of Westgate House, the team knew it deserved to be a very special afternoon.
An Afternoon of Music and Celebration
The celebrations began in style with the wonderful sound of a live saxophonist, filling Westgate House with rich, warm tones and setting the scene for an afternoon of festivities.
Directors Tara, Sita and Sanjiv, alongside owners Mr and Mrs Patel, joined residents, families and team members for the occasion. Their presence made the afternoon even more special. They took to the stage to present awards to members of the Westgate House team.

Celebrating the People Who Make Westgate House
The awards brought plenty of personality to the afternoon, with categories ranging from ‘Biggest Chatterbox’ and ‘Best Dancer’ to ‘King of Westgate House’, ‘Most Compassionate’, ‘Busiest Person’ and ‘Most Stylish’, alongside many others.
Each team member received their award from the Directors and owners, along with a box of Celebrations and a trophy to take home and treasure.
While some of the categories were certainly chosen for fun, the awards were also a chance to recognise the individual personalities and qualities that make Westgate House such a special place to live and work.
After all, 20 years is not simply about the building itself. It is about the people who have walked through its doors. It is also about the teams who have cared for residents year after year, and the families who have made Westgate House part of their lives.
“It’s incredibly special to look back and realise just how much Westgate House has changed over the years, while the heart of the home has remained the same. I’ve been part of the team for 14 years, and during that time I’ve seen so many residents and families become part of our community. Celebrating 20 years of Westgate House felt like celebrating everyone who has helped make it the home it is today. I’m very proud to have been part of that journey, and I’m excited to see what the next 20 years will bring.” – Home Manager, Westgate House

Food, Drinks and Something for Everyone
No Westgate celebration would be complete without plenty of food. The Head Chef prepared a wonderful selection for residents to enjoy. There was also a table filled with cupcakes, brownies, fruit, M&Ms, pretzels and plenty more tempting treats.
There was even a cocktail and mocktail maker on hand, serving up favourites including pornstar martinis, strawberry daiquiris and nojitos (a non-alcoholic mojito), ensuring everyone could join in the celebrations in their own way.

The Party Continues
The afternoon continued with a belly dancer, who had everyone mesmerised as she performed.
Before long, care team members Ashley, Jyoti, Jade and Corey joined the fun, donning belly dancing skirts and showing off their moves. Their enthusiasm was infectious. As a result, it encouraged residents, families and others in the courtyard to take to the dance floor too.
With the music continuing and everyone dancing together, the afternoon became a vibrant celebration of Westgate House and the community that makes it so special.
20 Years of Westgate House
Looking around, it was clear that this celebration represented far more than an anniversary.
Twenty years of Westgate House represents 20 years of caring for people, welcoming families, supporting colleagues and creating a place where residents can continue to enjoy life. It is also about trying new things and staying connected to their community.
At Westgate Healthcare, our mission is to give people a reason to keep on enjoying life. This anniversary was a wonderful reflection of that mission. It brought everyone together to create new memories and celebrate the people who make Westgate House such a special place.
Here’s to the next 20 years of Westgate House!
