Westgate Lifestyle Pioneers Day

At Westgate Healthcare, we are proud to be innovators and early adopters of programmes and activities that will enhance our care standards, improve care provision and positively impact our residents’ lives across our group.

Our unique programme, ‘Westgate Lifestyle Pioneers’, was created to empower the communities within our care homes. It enables our residents to pursue their passions and take the lead in evolving their lifestyles by continuing to do the things that are special to them.

The ‘Westgate Lifestyle Pioneers’ event was held on Thursday 13th May 2021 group-wide. The day can only be described as Westgate’s festival of colours as our seven homes adorned their lounges and conservatories with impressive bunting, balloon arches and Oscars-style decorations to ‘wow’ our residents as they took their seat at the event.

The pioneer programme offers our residents’ ‘job roles’ within our Westgate homes. Each job role is hand-picked and tailored to our residents’ interests and preferences. For example, June, our resident at Riverdale Care Home, loves to paint and chose to be a ‘Resident Artist’. June is now responsible for creating masterpieces for our Riverdale Care Home and will assist with the planning and executing of our group activities.

We are delighted that our fantastic teams across Westgate Healthcare have embraced this scheme and are thrilled to have 71 pioneers taking the lead across our homes.”
