Westgate launch Community Heroes project

Westgate Healthcare, a family-run care group provider in Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Essex, has launched a Community Heroes project that encourages staff and residents to give back to their local community.

The first Community Heroes project, launched on Tuesday 15th October, saw staff from the Head Office join forces with the care and activity teams to take residents out to litter pick in the surrounding streets.

Westgate aim to continue expanding their community projects with the support of their residents, and each home will be asking their residents to share their ideas and feedback on how they’d like to give back to the local area.

The benefits of community support activities provide the staff and our residents with an increased sense of social responsibility, whilst building relationships and social connections.

David, residents at St Pauls Care Centre, said:

“It’s been great giving back to our community! I can’t wait to do it again.”

If you’d like to become a volunteer at one of our care homes please email info@westgatehc.co.uk or call 0208 953 7600.
