St Pauls Healthcare Assistant Wins Dementia Carer Award
Healthcare Assistant Emma at St Pauls Care Centre in Hemel Hempstead was presented with her award and certificate at the Hilton, London awards ceremony on Saturday, 19th November, after she was announced ‘winner’ of the Dementia Carer Award at the Great British Care Awards 2022.
Emma, 29, was nominated by the team at St Pauls Care Centre for her continuous dedication and compassion to all residents in her care, with particular attention to those living with dementia. The awards highlight the incredible work done by care staff in London and the surrounding counties.
Emma, who has worked for St Pauls Care Centre for nearly 11 years, was joined by her care home colleagues Yasmin and Tinashe, who were also selected as award finalists for their contribution and commitment to providing excellence in social care. Fellow Westgate Healthcare finalists, including Kyla from Byron House Care Home, Kelly from Hampden Hall Care Centre and Cristina from Westgate House Care Centre enjoyed the evening and congratulated Emma on her remarkable personal achievement. Group-wide, Westgate Healthcare were finalists in six categories, making it a momentous celebration for the whole team.

“Emma embodies everything good about care and everything that makes a great carer…. She’s so incredibly kind. She’s the sort of person that when new staff come, we want her to train them because she’s just so dedicated to the residents.”
