Special birthdays at Burford House

We are celebrating two very special and significant birthdays this week at Burford House. Robert is our oldest resident at Burford and is seeing in his 104th birthday with us on Wednesday 11th April. Robert is still very independent and only decided to take things a little easier last year when he joined us. After serving in the Civil Defense Service driving ambulances and providing first aid during the Blitz, Robert enjoyed a long and successful career as an Industrial Chemist. He is featured in the latest edition of the Watford Observer, you can read the full article here –

Also on 11th April, Lily is celebrating her 101st birthday. Lily has led a very full and varied life and continues to enjoy many activities at Burford House, particularly enjoying a good sing along. She spent many years as an active charity worker and continued to drive the blind club around until the age of 89. Lily will be spending the day with her children, grandchildren and friends at Burford House. She is also featured in the Watford Observer –
