Lucie, Lifestyle and Wellbeing Lead based at Hampden Hall Care Centre, Aylesbury, is passionate about making every day count and making a difference to the lives of residents and their families.
Lucie said, “I have been with Westgate Healthcare for nearly 5 years now, having changed career paths from a Primary School Teacher to working in care. Having first-hand experience of a family member living with Dementia, I regard all our residents as family and want to make each day as enjoyable as possible.”
Having worked within a variety of roles, Westgate acknowledged Lucie’s dedication and passion and offered the position of Lifestyle and Wellbeing Lead, to drive forward the range of Lifestyle Initiatives to promote independence, respect and choice for people living within all homes in the portfolio.
The role encompasses the classic duties of designed and implementing a varied scheduled of activities, but also includes building family and community relations through showcasing potential clients the lifestyle offered within the home and sharing expertise with fellow wellbeing colleagues. Furthermore the role incorporate being a Home Ambassador, attending relatives meetings, organising both resident and team wellbeing initiatives, managing and training activities team members on Westgate Initiatives, offering interview support and developing new wellbeing programmes.
Lucie said “No two days are ever the same, which is exciting and fresh and the Westgate team are always on-hand to provide support and guidance. I love what I do and feel valued by all the Westgate management team and am looking forward to progressing my ideas within.”
