International Nurses Day

Happy International Nurses Day! At Westgate Healthcare, we are proud of our altruistic team of nurses. As a care home provider offering comprehensive nursing care services to our residents twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, our nurses are fundamental to our homes’ high levels of care.

We celebrated ‘International Nurses Day’ last week with a Coffee Morning at Westgate House Care Centre, situated in Ware, Hertfordshire. We took the opportunity to celebrate the day’s significance by inviting many of our local nurses to share stories, learn the origins of nursing, and discuss various topics surrounding nursing care. All attendees left the event with a personalised mug in recognition of ‘International Nurses Day’, which read: ‘Never forget the difference you make!’, which echoed the events key message.

Nancy Currie, Care Home Manager at Westgate House, said: “It’s so important to celebrate our nurses. They do an exceptional job and deserve to be recognised and rewarded for their work. Today we made our nurses feel special, noticed and empowered. We shared laughs and were able to get a great discussion going. All in all, today was a great success.”

We at Westgate Healthcare would like to applaud all of our nurses group-wide for demonstrating dedication, devotion, and hard work throughout their careers and amidst the pandemic.
