Head Office Staff Raise a Staggering Amount for Local Community

Evidence shows that helping others is actually beneficial for your own mental health and wellbeing. It can help reduce stress, improve your emotional wellbeing and even benefit your physical health.

Due to the ongoing coronavirus situation, many of the local charities who previously provided support to those who live in temporary accommodation, have had to close for the foreseeable future. This has left many people without access to food, and some without access to cooking facilities. Many rely on tinned or dried food donations from the local food banks which have been under immense pressure lately.

Westgate Healthcare's Head of HR, Marie Hart who is passionate about homelessness and regularly volunteers for a couple of homeless charities, took matters in to her own hands and asked the team at head office for support. The response was overwhelming.

The Head Office team dug deep and managed to collectively raise a staggering £470. Marie said: "The money raised has allowed us to buy and distribute fresh food to those in temporary accommodation in and around St Albans. They are extremely grateful for our donation."
