Fundraising for AFIRM India
Westgate Healthcare are proud to support AFIRM India, a charity founded and run by our Administrator at Burford House, Gill Rosser.
AFIRM India began 15 years ago when Gill and her husband Barry visited India for the first time. From that very first trip, the needs of the orphans and widows captured their hearts. They set about supporting a small project, and 3 years later in 2004 they became a registered charity. The charity helps to support vulnerable children, providing care, schooling, clothing and a safe place to live. In addition they feed and support many poor and needy families in the community on a monthly basis.
Sadly, Barry passed away in September 2013. This was obviously devastating for Gill but she carried on running the charity and fundraising for it by herself as well as working for Westgate Healthcare. She goes and visits the children every year. Gill now continues her good work alongside Kathy and Stan, who have been trustees from the beginning and now Rohit and Sunyana who have recently joined as trustees.
