Chestnut Manor – Craft Fair

Chestnut Manor Care Home hosted a fabulous Arts and Craft Fair where unique designers and artists within the local area of Wanstead showcased their gifts and products. The fun day was an opportunity to support the East London craft community and for residents to gather and meet new friends.

Chestnut Manor Care Home residents also got the chance to get creative whereby they designed beautifully individual handmade cards to sell in aid of charity. Resident Sister Catherine thoroughly enjoyed preparing for the event and added to her signature collection by producing delicate pencil flower designs, which went down a treat with buyers!

One lady said ‘Thanks for a lovely event, I really enjoyed the day and look forward to future ones, I met some wonderful people today and it was an inspiration to see 94-year-old Sister Catherine participating with her beautiful cards, amazing and bravo to her’.

Stalls included photography prints of wild life animals, bespoke jewellery pieces, hand crafted cards, handbags, coasters, keyrings and various houseware items. Tea, coffee and a scrumptious carrot and beetroot cake was baked and served by our very own receptionist-Carol. It was a truly special afternoon and a wonderful opportunity for the local community to come together.

Chestnut Manor will be holding a variety of events in the coming months, please contact if you are interested in being part.
