Burford House Nursing Home announce closure for luxury redevelopment
Burford House Nursing Home in Chorleywood, part of the Westgate Healthcare group, will be closing its doors to make way for a redevelopment of the care home.
The new 46-bed complex, which is due to open early 2021, will be equipped with a hair and nail salon and its own cinema whilst offering specialist residential and dementia care to residents.
Whilst Burford House Nursing Home will continue to offer short-term respite placements until August 2019, the care team are working with long-term residents and their relatives to find local homes that can offer the same level of care whilst redevelopment work takes place.
Fortune Mutero, Home Manager at Burford House, said:
“Each of our residents at Burford House Nursing Home will be moving to care homes of their choice that can provide the tailored care requirements for their individual needs. Myself and the team at Burford House will be looking forward to welcoming residents from across the community back into our care where they’ll be able to enjoy our new luxury home in 2021.”
Tara Teubner, Director at Westgate Healthcare, said:
“Westgate Healthcare is dedicated to providing excellent care to each of our residents and it’s time for us to close the doors of Burford House Nursing Home to carry out an extensive redevelopment of the home. There is a growing need for quality care that also offers exceptional facilities and our new luxurious care home will be fully equipped to cater to all of our resident’s wishes.
“Burford House is located in a tranquil part of Chorleywood with a comfortable and homely atmosphere for residents, and we’re devoted to providing all residents with an environment that offers them a safe and independent way of living with generous, luxurious en-suite rooms and a range of impressive facilities.”
