‘About Me’ books

The ‘About Me’ booklets offer our residents with an opportunity to share their hobbies and interests with the teams to build meaningful relationships. Our teams use the booklets to create activities and events that suit the hobbies and interests of each of our residents, and they make sure every resident is empowered to do the things they enjoy most. The booklets can be found in each of the residents’ rooms to ensure they are easily accessible.

We are delighted that our About Me books are being extremely well received by each of our homes. The team are enjoying getting to know their residents even better and residents are really enjoying telling us more about themselves.

The books play an important role in ensuring that all residents receive the very best care and live their best life, no matter their level of communication or which team member is on duty.

For those who do have difficulty communicating, the books can bring real peace of mind to loved ones. One relative said ‘Mum can no longer communicate, so this is important to us knowing that you all know her as much as her loved ones do. The book speaks for what Mum can’t say.’
