At Westgate Healthcare we believe life is to be lived and loved. Our number one priority is to ensure residents live a happy, meaningful and fulfilled life in our homes.

With a holistic approach to care the emotional and wellbeing needs of our residents are just as important as the care we provide, and our range of Lifestyle Initiatives are designed to promote the independence, respect and choice for people living in our homes. We put individual choice at the heart of everything we do.

Our dedicated care teams are committed to getting to know every individual, their likes, dislikes and what is important to them. Whether your loved one is an avid painter, gardener, or musician, we ensure all of our Lifestyle Initiatives are tailored to the individual needs of each resident to help them live a fulfilled life.

Our Initiatives

About Me

Each resident receives a personalised ‘About Me’ book when they join us, offering them the opportunity to share their likes, dislikes, hobbies and interests so that we can ensure a personalised and tailored care service. Bespoke activity programmes are created for residents, ensuring each individual is empowered to do the things they enjoy the most. To read more, please click here.

All Westgate homes offer a strong sense of community and communication forms an essential part of this. Our unique ‘Chatterbox’ initiative was created to initiate conversations amongst residents and to promote social interaction and mental stimulation. To find out more about our ‘Chatterbox’ initiative, and how it could help your loved one, please click here.

Make A Wish

The ‘Make A Wish’ wellbeing initiative was designed with residents and their families in mind. By periodically granting the wishes of our residents, we give them the opportunity to create long-lasting and precious memories with loved ones. Wishes we have granted include family trips, unique experiences and gifts. To find out more please click here.

Lifestyle Pioneers

Our ‘Lifestyle Pioneer’ programme was created to empower residents living within our care homes. Meaningful activities form an essential part of our care service delivery, and the ‘Lifestyle Pioneer’ initiative encourages residents to take part in such activities that help promote their independence and wellbeing. I have nothing but praise for Ashview nursing home and all the staff. The staff went to a lot of effort to accommodate my wife and I on our short-term stay, and all the staff are cheerful and willing to help at all times, day and night. The food and accommodation is very good, and there is a large garden area. I would have no hesitation to returning in the future. The standard of care in this home is exemplary. The staff give 110% at all times. They are patient, caring, understanding, kind and sensitive to my father's needs. I cannot imagine how this could be improved. I would recommend Byron House to anyone. They are first class. Daughter of Byron House resident

I think I have been at Chestnuts longer than any of the other residents. I am very happy here. The staff are very kind. I enjoy the food and all the games and activities. We have a lot of concerts too which I like very much. We have a lovely Garden Party in the summer, with food and entertainment; friends and family are also invited. Today the sun was shining so we all sat in the garden with the music playing eating ice-cream. I also have made a lot of friends here, so am very happy. Resident at Chestnuts
