At Westgate Healthcare we use digital care management systems such as Nourish Care and PredicAire. Each home uses the system that best supports its team, although both platforms help us deliver personalised and consistent care.
Our teams record information on portable digital devices. This works in a similar way to an app on a smartphone and it allows staff to update care notes in real time. This creates accurate and accessible records that support safer and more responsive care.
Digital care management systems helps our teams analyse information more efficiently. It also highlights changes quickly, which means staff can act sooner and tailor support to each residentโs needs. Because the systems streamline recording and communication, staff gain more time to spend with residents.
Both platforms improve the flow of information across shifts. Staff can easily see updates, preferences and observations, which keeps everyone in the loop and promotes a consistent approach to care.
The digital process also helps residents stay involved in their own care. It encourages independence and ensures their wishes remain at the centre of daily decision-making.
Since moving to digital care management, we have reduced our use of paper, which supports our commitment to a more environmentally friendly approach across our homes.
