Residential Care
What is Residential Care?
Residential care is designed to give residents independence whilst reducing the risks that come with living alone, safe in the knowledge that care teams are on hand to support where needed.
It is a particularly good option for those who could benefit from a calm and relaxing setting, delicious nutritious meals and a little extra support with washing, dressing and other daily activities, whilst continuing to enjoy living life as you wish to.
Residential care can provide a safe and homely setting for the long term, or indeed the relaxation and recuperation needed in the short term, perhaps following an operation. It’s important to note that residential care is not for those who require specialist support in the form of nursing care or dementia care.
Westgate’s Residential Care Service
At Westgate Healthcare, all of our care homes offer residential care services. We appreciate that each of our residents are individual’s with unique requirements, which is why we develop personalised care plans that are re-assessed regularly.
We pride ourselves on offering the highest-quality residential care and companionship for those living with us. In fact, the strong bonds within our community mean many consider our care team as an extension of their own family. Our care teams are respectful and attentive to the needs of residents, whether it’s as simple as knowing if it’s ‘milk and two sugars’, or helping to find a new hobby, Westgate Healthcare homes always have their resident’s best interests at heart.
Our residents enjoy the freedom of planning their day, from breakfast to when they go to bed with 24-hour support on hand. You can expect all the usual comforts of home such as warm fireplaces, comfy armchairs, beautiful gardens and the smell of home-cooked food creating a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. We provide a wide variety of activities and events that our residents can attend at their leisure such as music workshops, flower arranging, coffee mornings and more. If you prefer a stroll around the garden or relaxing in a quiet space with a good book, then options are available to you.
In all of our homes, dedicated catering professionals prepare seasonal meals from a varied daily menu, taking into account personal preference and dietary requirements, centred on taste and nutrition.
The best way to find out what life is like as a resident at Westgate Healthcare is to visit your nearest care home and meet the team and residents who live with us. You can find your nearest care home here.
